Registration Guidelines

REGISTRATION

The Congress is open to all Eye Care Professionals. The Congress offers a diverse program with lectures suited for ophthalmology practice in the ASEAN region. The Exhibits will provide a wonderful tour of the advancements in technology that promise to deliver better eye care. The Socials program included in the Full Program Registration entitles the delegates to attend the Fellowship Night to mingle with colleagues in a festive atmosphere.

Registration Dates

Registration will be available from July 29 to December 06, 2024. To avoid system traffic congestion, delegates are strongly encouraged to register as soon as possible. You may view the registration guide here.

Early Bird rates will be applicable from July 29, 2024 (Monday) until September 30, 2024 (Monday), Advance Registration will continue until November 15, 2024 (Friday). From November 16, 2024 (Saturday), On-Site Registration rates will be in effect. Registration will remain open until December 6, 2024 (Friday).

The Vitreo-Retina Society of the Philippines (VRSP) and the Philippine Cornea Society, Inc. (PCSI) will host their respective Subspecialty Day sessions on Day 0 of the Congress, December 03, 2024 (Tuesday). Registration for each of these sessions will be distinct and separate from the registration for the PAO annual congress, and may be carried out through the same website.

Early bird and advance discounted rates are only applicable to payments made on or before the deadlines specified.

Full Program Registration

Registering for the Full Program grants participants access to all activities throughout the event, encompassing Scientific Sessions, Free Paper and Surgical Video Presentations, Social Events, and Industry Exhibitions.

The Registration Kit comprises a bag and badge for entry into scientific sessions and the exhibit hall. Additionally, registrants will receive lunch and snacks during the event, and access to the Fellowship Night.

Registration also provides user access to the website for the digital program. Following completion of the feedback form, attendees can download a certificate of attendance from December 06, 2024 until March 15, 2024.

DATA PRIVACY

Personal information collected through the system will be used solely for the 2024 PAO Annual Congress. Personal data will not be disclosed to third parties by the Organizer. The information collected from you may be used in one or more of the following ways: attendance report, congress registration, payment processing, and communications.

The Registration and Abstract Submission system has 128-bit SSL encryption on all pages that handle sensitive information.

The PAO respects your right to privacy and complies with its obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The Organizers have taken all reasonable steps to guarantee the safety of the data you provided, and will only use the data for its intended purpose. However, the nature of the internet is such that we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us via the Internet will be 100% secure.

We may share your personal data where you have given permission. For instance, if you attend an industry sponsored event at the Congress and allow your badge to be scanned, this will be taken as consent to share your contact details with the sponsor concerned so that they can follow up with you directly.

We also reserve the right to enforce our site policies in order to protect our rights and the rights of other individuals in a manner that is safe and compliant with the law.

OTHERS

Confirmation

Registrants will be sent a confirmation email upon completing their registration successfully. Please present your confirmation email at the registration booth. If you do not receive this confirmation email, please inform the PAO Secretariat promptly via phone, Viber, or email, so that we can address the issue promptly.

If you need an official invitation letter for visa application, please create an account and download the letter from your user profile.

Delegates who would like to register on-site (after December 2, 2024) will need to go through the website registration system. You may approach the registration desk or access the congress website using your mobile device.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel your registration, please send a written request including your full name and the email address used for registration to secretariat@pao.org.ph.

For written requests received on or before September 30, 2024 (Monday), a 50% refund will be issued. No refunds will be provided for cancellations made after September 30, 2024 (Monday) or for non-attendance at the Congress. Refunds will be processed after December 06, 2024.

Registration is non-transferable.

Claiming Badges and Congress Kits

The distribution of Congress badges and kits will commence on December 03, 2024 (Tuesday), from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. Claiming of badge and kit will also be available throughout the duration of the meeting. Please ensure you bring your confirmation letter to facilitate the quick release of your kit.

Throughout the meeting, it is mandatory to wear your badge at all times for access to the Meeting and Exhibit Areas. Participants without proper badges will not be granted admission. Lost badges and meal tickets can be replaced at the participant's expense.

Certificates of Attendance will be accessible for download from the Congress website starting December 06, 2024 until March 15, 2025.

Fraud Alert

When registering for the Congress, it is important to beware of fraudulent entities impersonating or falsely claiming an affiliation with the Congress organizers. These organizations may reach out to you via email or may be found online. Please note that the Organizing Committee of the PAO Congress does not collaborate with any third-party organizations for meeting registration. To ensure a legitimate registration process, please only register directly through the official PAO Congress website at http://https://www.pao2024/event-details.php?id=1

If you suspect that you have encountered or been a victim of fraudulent activity, we urge you to report your experience to us. Kindly email the following details to secretariat@pao.org.ph.

If possible, attach pictures of the fraudulent website, the email chain with the fraudulent company, and any invoices or other attachments sent by the fraudulent company (optional but greatly appreciated). Your assistance in reporting such incidents helps us maintain the integrity of our registration process.
